CREOKS Health Services has been selected by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) to provide Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) services throughout southeast Oklahoma.
Under this designation, CREOKS will oversee comprehensive behavioral health and support services across Hughes, Coal, Atoka, Pittsburg (including McAlester), Haskell, Latimer, Pushmataha, Choctaw, Le Flore, and McCurtain counties.
This expansion reflects CREOKS’ continued commitment to increasing access to high-quality behavioral health care while supporting the communities, providers, and care teams that have long served the region.
Supporting a Seamless Transition
As services transition under the CCBHC model, CREOKS is focused on ensuring continuity of care for clients while supporting staff and community partners throughout the process.
“Our primary goal is to preserve the local expertise and strong relationships that already exist within these communities,” said Brent Black, CEO of CREOKS Health Services. “In behavioral health, success is built by the dedicated professionals who serve their clients every day. We are committed to supporting those teams while ensuring individuals and families continue receiving the care they need.”
Immediate Priorities
CREOKS has established three priorities to guide the transition:
- Preserving Local Expertise: Retaining talented staff and maintaining established client relationships whenever possible.
- Operational Continuity: Ensuring daily services, treatment protocols, and care schedules continue without interruption.
- Open Communication: Hosting in-person and virtual town hall meetings to provide updates, answer questions, and gather feedback from employees and community stakeholders.
Continuing a Legacy of Care
For more than 45 years, CREOKS Health Services has provided behavioral health and substance use treatment across Oklahoma. Accredited by CARF and certified by ODMHSAS, CREOKS delivers evidence-based services through outpatient clinics, crisis stabilization centers, and home- and school-based programs.
The expansion into southeast Oklahoma strengthens CREOKS’ mission to improve access to behavioral health care while investing in local providers, supporting communities, and ensuring individuals and families receive the services they need close to home.
