Recovery doesn’t always begin when someone is ready. Sometimes, it begins when the right treatment is finally available.

CREOKS Health Services is expanding access to substance use treatment with plans to transform its property at 3310 West 61st St. in Tulsa into a secure detoxification and residential treatment center for adults.

The new facility will create additional opportunities for people struggling with substance use to receive structured, professional care while taking another step toward long-term recovery.

Expanding Access to Treatment

Once complete, the center will provide 15 medically supervised detox beds for men and women ages 18 and older and 47 residential treatment beds for men.

Detoxification services will typically last between three and 10 days. Men who transition into residential treatment will participate in a minimum 30-day program designed to provide stability, support, and the tools needed to continue their recovery.

The facility will serve individuals from across Oklahoma, with a dedicated partnership supporting Creek County.

For women completing detox, CREOKS will also facilitate warm handoffs and referral pathways to long-term residential inpatient care, helping ensure that detox is not the end of treatment, but a connection to the next stage of recovery.

Treatment Instead of Incarceration

One of the center’s important roles will be supporting diversion efforts by providing comprehensive clinical treatment as an alternative to short-term incarceration when appropriate.

District Attorney Andrew Goforth highlighted the broader community impact of connecting people with treatment.

“When we can connect people with treatment instead of repeated incarceration, everyone benefits.”

Treatment can give individuals the opportunity to address the underlying challenges associated with substance use while creating better outcomes for families and communities.

Recovery and Community Safety

The new facility is being designed with both recovery and community safety in mind.

The secure healthcare facility will include:

  • 24/7 licensed clinical staffing
  • Controlled building access
  • Perimeter fencing
  • Low-visibility site design
  • CREOKS-coordinated transportation for admissions and discharges
  • Individualized treatment plans

Treatment will include counseling, group therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation, and relapse prevention.

“Our goal is to provide compassionate, high-quality treatment in a setting that is safe, structured, and respectful of the surrounding neighborhood,” said Amanda Hammack, Senior Program Director at CREOKS Health Services.

The facility will also undergo renovations, landscaping improvements, and ongoing property maintenance as part of the project.

Building Opportunites for Recovery

For CREOKS, the project is about more than adding beds. It’s about creating another pathway for people who need help taking the next step.

“This project is about creating opportunities for recovery while making our communities stronger,” said Brent Black, CEO of CREOKS Health Services. “When people have timely access to treatment, families heal, communities benefit, and lives are changed.”

By expanding detoxification and residential treatment services, CREOKS is working to increase access to care while helping people move from crisis toward stability and long-term recovery.

What’s Next?

Construction and renovation efforts are anticipated to begin after permitting is completed in April 2027, with a target completion timeline of November 2027.

As the project moves forward, CREOKS will continue sharing updates and additional information about the new treatment center.
