CREOKS Health Services was pleased to host our partner, BeHeard Movement for a ribbon cutting event on June 16. A new beacon of hope is on the horizon for Oklahoma City with the partnership of CREOKS and BeHeard Movement’s efforts to provide comprehensive support and essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness in our community.

CREOKS and Beheard Movement offer a dignified and welcoming environment where individuals can access a wide array of critical resources designed to foster stability, health, and a pathway to self-sufficiency. “We are incredibly excited to have BeHeard Movement coming to OKC and address the multifaceted needs of our homeless neighbors,” said Brent Black, CEO of CREOKS Health Services.

“Our goal together is to create a compassionate and empowering space where individuals can not only fulfill their basic needs but also receive the behavioral health and case management support necessary to rebuild their lives.”

BeHeard Movement offers an extensive suite of services.

  • Showers and Laundry Facilities: Providing access to cleanliness and dignity.
  • Clothing Closet: Offering clean, appropriate attire for all seasons and occasions.
  • Nutritious Snacks: Ensuring immediate access to food.
  • Phone Charging Stations and Phone Usage: Connecting individuals with vital communication tools.
  • Mail Services: A stable address for essential correspondence.
  • Secure Storage: A safe place for personal belongings, offering peace of mind.
  • Haircuts: Promoting personal hygiene and self-esteem.
  • Hygiene Products: Distributing essential personal care items.
  • Employment Opportunities: Connecting individuals with job training, placement, and readiness programs.

“The challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness are complex and often overwhelming,” says Evan Dougoud, President & Founder of BeHeard Movement. “We found that the need in OKC mirrors what we’ve seen in East Tulsa, where the nearest shower and shelter could be a four to five hour walk. Our Mobile Drop-In Center brings services directly to the population.”

The arrival of BeHeard Movement and the partnership with CREOKS Health Services marks a significant step forward in OKC’s commitment to breaking down barriers and providing the foundational support necessary for unhoused individuals to regain stability and thrive.
