About the Program
Combining theory with practice, CREOKS Health Services offers a comprehensive practicum & internship program for students working towards a Master’s Degree, related to the field of behavioral health in the following graduate level academic programs of study: Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Addictions Counseling, and Social Work.
We believe that the best way to develop clinical skills is through rich and rewarding clinical field education experiences in the context of strong supervision and guidance from our multi-disciplinary staff.
Our program provides a diverse range of didactic and experiential in-depth learning and clinical training opportunities. We ensure the development of core competencies that result in graduate-level student interns developing and refining the skills that are necessary for successful professional practice in 21st Century behavioral health services.

Applicants must meet the following criteria at the time of application.

✓ Currently enrolled in an accredited graduate program
✓ Pursuing a degree in an accepted concentration area (see above)
✓ Accepted into your program of study (verification required)
✓ Completed foundational coursework as required by your program for field placement eligibility
✓ Open to both current CREOKS employees and external applicants

How it Works
From application to your first day on site — here’s what to expect at every stage.
❶ Submit Your Application
Complete the online application form with all required documents. You’ll receive a confirmation email with details on what to expect next.
❷ Preliminary Screening
Our team reviews your application to determine basic qualifications, match you with an appropriate site location, and evaluate fit using a standardized checklist. Applicants not selected for an interview will be notified by email with information about reapplying in a future cycle.
❸ Interview Scheduling
If selected, you’ll receive an email with a scheduling link to schedule an interview with your matched Site Director during the designated interview window.
❹ Interview with Site Director
Meet with the Site Director. This is your opportunity to learn about the site and demonstrate your readiness for clinical field experience.
❺ Offer & Contract
If accepted, you’ll receive a formal offer via email. Sign and return the electronic letter of intent to confirm your placement.
❻ Submit Required Documents
After your letter of intent is signed, complete and submit all remaining required documents to finalize your onboarding before your start date.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apply if I'm a current CREOKS employee?
Yes. The program is open to both current CREOKS employees and external applicants. Both follow the same application and screening process.
What happens if my application is incomplete?
Applications cannot be reviewed until all required information and supporting documents have been received. Please ensure everything is submitted before the deadline.
Can I choose which site I'm placed at?
Site matching is determined during screening based on your concentration area, availability, and site needs. We do our best to accommodate preferences, but placements are based on overall fit.
How will I know if I wasn't selected for an interview?
All applicants are notified of their status by email. If you are not selected, you’ll receive information about reapplying in a future cycle.
What should I expect during the interview?
Interviews are conducted with a Site Director. They focus on your academic goals, relevant experience, and readiness for a clinical or community-based setting.
Is the PMHNP program accepted?
CREOKS is not currently accepting Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) applications. Accepted programs include Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Addictions Counseling, and Social Work.
How long is each practicum / internship cycle?
Practicum / Internship placements align with the academic semester and typically run for one full semester. Exact start and end dates are posted with each application window.
Is the internship paid?
These are unpaid educational placements designed to fulfill practicum or internship hour requirements for your graduate program. CREOKS does not provide a stipend or hourly compensation for practicum and internship students.
What will I do on a day-to-day basis?
Activities vary by site and concentration but may include individual and group counseling, intake assessments, case staffing, treatment planning, crisis intervention, documentation, and community outreach. You’ll work alongside licensed clinicians in outpatient, school-based, or community settings serving diverse populations.
How many hours per week are expected?
Weekly hours depend on your program’s requirements and the placement cycle.
